Introducing a rare and unique piece of history – an Antique Vintage 1920s Maryland Chief Label, Baltimore, MD in liquor! Made by J Langrall & Bros Inc, this label measures 11 x 4 1/2 and boasts a one-of-a-kind design that’s sure to catch the eye of any collector. This label is so much more than just an antique decoration – it tells the story of a time when prohibition was in full swing and Maryland was one of the few states that refused to enforce it. These peas were canned in liquor during that time, making them a true piece of prohibition-era memorabilia. With a warning that they should not be brought to a boil, this label is a fascinating window into a bygone era, and a must-have for collectors and history buffs alike. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of America’s past with this incredible Antique Vintage 1920s Maryland Chief Label in liquor!
During Prohibition Maryland never even enacted an enforcement code, and eventually earned a reputation as one of the most stubbornly anti-Prohibition states in the Union.
My pictures seriously don’t do it justice.
Crate Labels are a reminder of a bygone era, but the amazing lithography process is unparalleled even to this day in my opinion. Museums and Art Institutes have galleries dedicated to them, and more and more collectors are seeking these out to preserve their history. Once the limited supply for sale is gone and on display with collectors or in galleries, then they will be very difficult to acquire.
